On Friday, April 3, SHRM Chief Operating Officer China Miner Gorman welcomed U.S. Representative Jim Moran (D-VA) to the Society’s headquarters for a constituent forum breakfast with other area association executives.

The program, organized in conjunction with the American Society of Association Executives of Washington, D.C., was attended by nearly 50 senior-level association executives and industry partners from across the Washington metropolitan area. In his remarks to the group, Congressman Moran (who serves on the House Appropriations Committee and is a member of the Subcommittee on Labor, Health and Human Services, Education and Related Agencies) addressed the economic impact of the recently-enacted American Recovery and Reinvestment Act and touched upon a series of HR public policy issues pending before the 111th Congress.
Society members interested in organizing a similar event for their chapter or employer should contact SHRM’s Member Advocacy Specialist Recardo Gibson.
