SHRM’s leadership on the workplace flexibility issue continues to attract attention. On June 8, at the request of the White House, SHRM brought together senior HR executives in San Francisco for a discussion with Martha Johnson, Administrator of the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA), pictured below flanked by Randy Scott, Executive Director of Human Resources, University of California, and Lisa Horn, SHRM's Senior Government Relations Advisor.
HR executives from the following organizations participated in the roundtable discussion, which focused on telework, alternative workspaces and other flexible work options: Laguna Honda Hospital, Twitter, CenCal Health, Netflix, Jewish Senior Living Center, PG&E, Mid Peninsula Housing Corp., Valerie Frederickson & Co., Flextronics, VMware, Flexperience, Cisco, the University of California, Taste Catering & Event Planning, and Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe LLP.
Although GSA is a work-flex leader within federal agencies, Administrator Johnson wanted to get more ideas from the “experts”—and the administration turned to SHRM. Click HERE to read Administrator Johnson’s blog post about the meeting.
