SHRM Partnership to Advance Workplace Flexibility Kicks into Overdrive
The SHRM and Families and Work Institute (FWI) partnership to help employers become more successful by embracing workplace flexibility is in full swing. A key component of the new partnership is When Work Works, a nation-wide initiative to bring research on workplace effectiveness and flexibility into community and business practice.
By leveraging SHRM’s vast network, the partnership will help grow this initiative. It will continue to offer the Sloan Award for Business Excellence in Workplace Flexibility, honoring employers who are leading the way on effective and flexible workplace strategies.
This year, SHRM will introduce the When Work Works program in six states, including CA, OR, TX, IL, MD and VA. In addition, a number of current When Work Works partner communities will be announcing 2011 Sloan Award-winning organizations at recognition events through the remainder of the year.
In the coming months, HR professionals can also expect a number of new resources from the SHRM/FWI partnership, including:
- A new Employer Resource Guide
- The 2012 Guide to Bold New Ideas for Making Work Work
- The 2011 National Study of Employers
- The first-ever SHRM/FWI Work-Life Focus Conference
- A new SHRM Speaker’s Bureau presentation on workplace flexibility
