Mary Tinebra, a Mercer senior partner, has been named as the firm’s New York Metro market leader. In this role, Tinebra has responsibility for overall market revenue generation and client satisfaction, which includes some of Mercer’s largest clients. She reports to Mindy Fox, Mercer’s U.S. region head.
Tinebra’s “years of experience and proven track record of success with some of our highest-profile clients make her an ideal leader for the New York Metro market. We will be counting on these skills and abilities to further grow and strengthen our relationships with New York Metro-based clients,” said Fox.
Tinebra comes to this position from Mercer’s outsourcing business, where for four years she served as global head of business development. During this time, Tinebra defined the marketing and sales programs to enable significant growth. Prior to joining Mercer, she held executive sales and global leadership positions at Compaq, now Hewlett-Packard, where she led its New York market through periods of considerable growth. In addition, she was general manager of Globix Corp. for the U.S. market.
Tinebra received a B.S. in marketing and computer science from Merrimack College in Andover, Mass., and an M.B.A. from Babson College in Wellesley, Mass. She was inducted into the YWCA-NYC Academy of Women Leaders and serves on the Advisory Board. She serves on the board of directors for Hour Children, a nonprofit in New York.
John Jakovenko, SPHR, has joined Morris, Manning & Martin as director of human resources. Jakovenko has more than eight years of human resources experience, including expertise in employee relations and teambuilding, management training, leadership development, and business and human capital consulting. He is certified as an SPHR and a Certified Legal Manager (CLM). As a member of Junior Achievement of Georgia, Jakovenko volunteers his time as an instructor at South Cobb High School.

Prior to joining Morris, Manning & Martin, Jakovenko was the HR director for a mid-sized law firm in Atlanta, where he built the human resources department from the ground up. Before coming to Atlanta, he provided overall direction to the human resources department at a firm in Los Angeles. Jakovenko graduated magna cum laude with his B.S. from Florida State University and received his M.B.A. from the University of Buffalo, The State University of New York.
