The Role of the Panels
The SHRM Special Expertise Panels identify topics of importance to the HR profession. Each of the 12 panels is made up of as many as 15 SHRM professional members who each serve a three-year term. Panel members report emerging trends in specific HR topic areas, provide expert advice and give guidance on public policy. Members must have expertise in the panel topic area, good communication and interpersonal skills, an established professional network with strategic/operational connections, and the ability to participate. For information on nominations, see the Volunteer Leaders' Resource Center. All nominations are reviewed and recommended by the Panel Selection Committee of the SHRM Board of Directors.
