Call for Book Proposals
Winter 2012
The Society for Human Resource Management invites you to submit book proposals that address significant and contemporary issues facing the HR profession; specifically we are looking for practical, solutions-oriented books in the following areas:
- FLSA (comprehensive or series)
- Leave Management (detailed federal and state overview)
- California Employment Law (comprehensive or series)
- Labor Relations (series)
- Management Development
- ADA/ADAAA
- Benefits Planning, Reviewing, and Auditing
- Employer-Employee Communication Strategies
- HR Department and Program Auditing
- Human Resource Management for Small Businesses
- Succession Planning and Knowledge Management
HRIS
- HR and Risk Management
- Health Care Reform Act (the focus is on how the law impacts organizations across the HR space: there could be chapters on benefits design, benefits ROI tools, communication, cost analysis, employee surveys, litigation avoidance issues (discrimination in hiring/terminating; privacy; ADA, etc.), pharmacy benefits, retention, staffing/recruitment, vendor evaluation and negotiation, wellness (as a means to reducing or controlling costs), etc.
- Rebuilding HR Departments after the Recession
- Global Employment Law (topical)
Proposals on additional topics are welcome.
