Staff Levels and the Use of Contingent and Part-time Workers SHRM Poll 

 

What does the future look like for temporary and contract workers? With the U.S. job market beginning to improve, this SHRM poll examines the hiring plans for different categories of contingent workers and found that by and large the respondents expected little or no change in their organization’s hiring plans with respect to contingent workers. Slightly more than half (51 percent) of the survey respondents expected hiring levels for temporary workers would remain at the same level over the next three years. Approximately 41 percent of the respondents reported that their use of contract workers also would stay about the same.
