Now and Then:  High Potential Women Leaders and their Peers

Abstract
Using both quantitative and qualitative approaches, we propose two studies to follow-up 195 college women leaders from 1985, examining career choices and organizational experiences compared to peers. This research has the unique potential to better understand the experiences of high potential women in the workplace and how HR can best support women’s leadership aspirations.  Further, we propose a third study to assess current college women leaders in comparison to their 1985 forerunners; understanding the needs and aspirations of high potential women on the threshold of organizational entry can help HR practitioners better provide the resources needed to help them achieve.
