President Signs Into Law the ‘VOW to Hire Heroes Act of 2011’
On November 21, President Obama signed into law the Vow to Hire Heroes Act of 2011 (P.L. 112-56); legislation to encourage the hiring of military veterans. 2011 SHRM Leadership Conference

SHRM Volunteer Leaders Advocate on Capitol Hill
In conjunction with the 2011 Leadership Conference, over 300 SHRM members traveled to Capitol Hill on November 17 to meet with their senators and representatives and discuss key HR issues.  These meetings, coupled with others conducted throughout the country by members of the SHRM Advocacy Team, reflect the heightened interest SHRM members have in personally engaging public policymakers on workplace issues.  [ More ]
