Member News: Elizabeth Damson Freeman and Karla Sirhan, SPHR

Elizabeth Damson Freeman will be taking over operations of Long’s Human Resource Services upon the retirement of her father, Tom Damson, who has served as president of the Alabama-based company for 30 years.

She has a bachelor’s degree in human and organizational development from Vanderbilt University and has overseen all aspects of the family-owned company’s Mobile and Baldwin county branches. Damson Freeman is an active member of the Mobile chapter of the Society for Human Resource Management and has been on the boards of her local Chamber of Commerce, Hancock Bank, the USA Children’s and Women’s Hospital, the United Way of Southwest Alabama, and UMS-Wright Preparatory School in Alabama.

 

Karla Sirhan, SPHR, has been promoted to vice president of human resources at Coleman World Group in Alabama. She has more than 15 years of experience in HR and holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Montreat College, where she graduated summa cum laude. At Coleman, she was instrumental in overhauling and upgrading the company’s HR information systems; before her promotion she was director of HR at Coleman.
