Member News: Libby Sartain, SPHR, and Ed Chaffin

Libby Sartain, SPHR, of Bastrop, Texas, has been named to AARP’s board of directors. The board’s responsibilities include approving the organization’s budget, monitoring its finances, determining its legislative agenda, and setting policy that guides its strategic plans and activities.

The co-author of such books as Cracking the Culture Code (RoundPegg Inc., 2013)
and former board chair of the Society for Human Resource Management, works with companies on human resource issues and serves on the board of ManpowerGroup. She has more than 30 years of experience in HR and has led human resources at Yahoo and Southwest Airlines; both companies were among Fortune magazine’s “100 Best Companies to Work For” during her tenure.

 

Ed Chaffin of Baton Rouge, La., has joined global development firm IMPACT Group as its president. He has more than 20 years of experience in HR and talent issues. In his new role he will oversee sales, account management and practice leaders.
 
He is a Professional Certified Coach from the International Coach Federation and a Certified Strengthsfinder Consultant, is certified in leading the
Social and Emotional Intelligence Profile, and is a Birkman Method Certified Consultant. Before joining the St. Louis-based IMPACT Group, Chaffin founded the UnCommon Leadership Institute and the Human Capital Initiative. He held multiple executive roles at TALX Corp., a HR services company, and was a member of the Greater Baton Rouge chapter of the Society for Human Resource Management.
