2008 Educational Sessions
Join us for unique educational sessions focusing on the most compelling public policy issues facing today’s workplace. Whether you are interested in hearing an overview of how the Supreme Court’s decisions affect you, learning more about compliance issues that may change the way you lead HR in your organization, getting an update of what is on the legislative agenda for Congress or hearing what to expect from the executive branch over the next year, this conference has something for everyone.
2008 Capitol Hill Visits
Take advantage of this rare opportunity to visit the congressional office(s) of your senators and/or representatives. SHRM provides you a unique chance to let him or her know, in person, how pending workplace legislation affects you as an HR professional. In so doing, your collective HRVoice is heard. The appointments are scheduled by SHRM in advance, a briefing is held to familiarize you with current legislative issues, and a special concurrent session is scheduled Tuesday morning during the first set of concurrent sessions to help you develop your message for the Hill visit. During Sunday evening’s reception and during lunch on Tuesday, you and other SHRM members from your state delegation will sit together before the visit to share experiences and ideas for the group Hill meetings.
