Capitol Hill Visits
Wednesday, March 12
There are only a handful of public policy-makers throughout the nation who have an HR background. As an HR professional, your expertise on workplace issues provides an invaluable real-world perspective into how public policy impacts both employers and employees. Plan on sharing with your elected officials, and their staffs, your views on employment, verification, the challenges with the rising cost of health care and the benefits of offering flexible workplace options to employees.
This visit to Capitol Hill will give you the opportunity to walk the halls of Congress, ensuring public policy-makers hear the HR voice. The day will begin with a continental breakfast on Capitol Hill followed by visits with congressional offices. SHRM Governmental Affairs staff will be on-site to answer any last-minute questions.
