what people are saying about SHRM’s Corporate Training
Programs
“The
benefit of having our “team” together
during this program to discuss real-life situations was invaluable.
We were
able to discuss sensitive topics openly without being intimidated
by attendees from other organizations.”
—Diane
Seeger, Director of Associate Relations & Organization
Development, AAA Mid-Atlantic, SHRM Member since 1995 and SHRM
Academy attendee
HR
Generalist
“A
couple years ago our HR organization re-structured to a Generalist
model. New, experienced staff were brought in to
fill key management
positions and existing staff moved around to new jobs and teams.
As a result, many staff members—who had previously been
exclusively recruiters, for example—found themselves being
asked to become familiar with Benefits, Compensation, etc.
To
blend these skills
and knowledge and to ensure all team members (approx. 30) shared
a common language—we decided to put the whole team through
the HR Generalist training, offered to us on-site by SHRM.
The
experience was edifying and unifying for our new organization
and, following
Children’s Hospital Boston-specific modules on the
same core topics, our team members felt that they had a strong
foundation of competencies
from which to launch the new HR Generalist organization confidently…experience
would give us the rest.
We
all appreciated the excellent faculty who delivered the program
and the flexibility of SHRM to allow
us to balance the training with time to keep our office
open. Participants noted that the materials covered (and those
provided but not covered) would be an effective resource
on the job.”

Global Certification Preparation
Course
“Globalization
demands that HR is able to expand its participation
beyond the national regulations and practices and think globally
in the development and implementation of HR strategies,
harmonization and
policies.
The
Global Certification Preparation Course, geared
towards HR professionals with multi-national accountability,
is the
logical step for SHRM
supporting the further development of HR today.”
