Leadership Development Training Available for Military Veterans
Free training is being offered to help veterans transition to civilian workforce

Applications are now being accepted for a leadership development program designed to teach veterans how to leverage their military experience for leadership roles in the civilian sector. The application deadline is Oct. 28, 2013.

The three-day training is being provided through a corporate volunteer service program of McLean,Va.-based Exelis Inc., which has partnered with executive recruitment firm Korn/Ferry International and the Points of Light to support the leadership and development of veterans who have recently left or are leaving military service to pursue civilian careers. The program is scheduled to start Jan. 24, 2014, in Washington, D.C., and will be followed by online learning and individual coaching during a four-month period.

Applicants may hold any rank or military specialty but must be leaving active or reserve duty or have left the military within the past two years. While there are no age or education-level eligibility requirements, selected applicants must commit fully to the program.
