Add a Description ] INTRODUCTION
In the summer of 1998, the Society for Human Resource Management asked SHRM members to submit samples of their unusual or difficult to find job descriptions, as well as Information Technology descriptions, to the SHRM Information Center. With the permission of those members submitting samples, we were able to compile this web site.
Information Specialists from the SHRM Information Center met to review all of the sample descriptions, and used these samples to compile this book. The job descriptions included in this book come from a cross section of employers, varying in size and industry.
These samples are reproductions and all identifying information has been removed. The samples are not intended to be "ready for use" by readers. Rather, these job descriptions are intended as samples and should be adapted to your particular company's needs.
These job descriptions are the original work of SHRM members, who provided them to the Society for Human Resource Management and graciously agreed to share them with their colleagues. Although this work is copyrighted, SHRM members may freely use the content to assist in writing or changing their own job descriptions.
We wish to thank all of the SHRM members who made this collection possible.
Submit your own job description.
