.jobs (dot jobs) is a top-level internet “domain” (TLD). Other TLDs are .com (dot com), .biz (dot biz), and .org (dot org). TLDs help people navigate to particular internet destinations.
After registering to use the .jobs domain, you place your organization’s name directly before it and you have a unique web address for your HR Department’s career page. It is used in recruitment advertising to connect job seekers directly to an organizations’ own employment web site.
For example, a job seeker interested in careers at SHRM sees recruitment ads with the .jobs domain added to the SHRM name: www.shrm.jobs.

SHRM has partnered with Employ Media and VeriSign to offer .jobs to SHRM members. SHRM provides policy related advice to .jobs and VeriSign manages the technical administration of the domain. Employ Media designates the registrars who can provide .jobs registrations to organizations.
Registration for a .jobs Domain
SHRM members can purchase a .jobs domain for an annual fee of $115. That’s a fraction of the cost of an average job posting.
At the registrar’s web site you’ll create an account, complete a registration request and submit the request for the .jobs URL. The URL must be for your legal or commonly known business or organization name, or include that name, and used for HR purposes. There is a qualification process to protect the .jobs domain name. You’ll receive a response within one or two business days.
