Test Specifications
HRCI Information
The Human Resource Certification Institute (HRCI®)
has defined and developed the Global Professional in Human
Resources (GPHR) certification international HR body of knowledge
and administers the exam. The SHRM Global Learning System
provides important information about how the various components
of the test are weighted and how to best use the SHRM Global
Learning System when you're preparing for the test. Please
review the following points:
• The SHRM Global Learning System™does
not "teach to the test." The HRCI test items are
held in strict security and are notmade available to SHRM
or any organization. The SHRM Global Learning System™
team has developed its own activities and questions based
on the HRCI tasks and objectives outlined in the test specifications;
and while these may be similar to certification test items,
they will not be exact matches.
• Because HR information, policies and
regulations can change on a frequent basis, it is recommended
that participants take the certification test in the same
year that they complete the learning system.
The GPHR Certification Exam
The GPHR certification exam is the last step
for those electing to pursue certification for global HR.

Who Should Take the
Exam?
HR professionals with at least two years of
exempt-level (professional) work experience whose responsibilities
include:
• Developing and implementing global HR strategies.
• Managing HR operations overseas.
• International assignment management.

Note: Candidates
who register to take the exam outside of the United States
or Canada will incur a $55 international test center fee.
* A $50 late fee
will be assessed on applications received after the regular

and graduation requirements.
HRCI exams are administered
only in English.
