President Barack Obama has indicated he wants to bring more troops home in 2009 and 2010. The challenge for employers will be ensuring that workplaces are inclusive and allows veterans to thrive, feel appreciated and respected as the return to the U.S. workforce.

This webcast will explore the many cultural challenges, stigmas and misconceptions facing transitioning veterans, as well as people with disabilities. Diversity expert Ed Crenshaw will outline the business case for hiring veterans and people with disabilities, including the potential return on investment in a challenged economy.

About the Speaker: Edward J. Crenshaw, Jr. is president and CEO of DESTIN Enterprises, LLC (DESTIN), a full service employment solutions firm in Columbia, Md. He founded the company in 1998. He also has extensive experience in HR and diversity consulting and developing high-end, strategic IT solutions. In 2007, Crenshaw's company was awarded a contract from Walter Reed Army Medical Center (WRAMC) Transition Employment Assistance Management Service (T.E.A.M.S.) division, to provide placement services for transitioning Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans. This experience has given him first-hand knowledge of the unique challenges facing employers looking to hire transitioning combat exposed veterans.
