Compliance Series Webcast: HIPAA - What Every Employer Needs to Know

This program is no longer available for purchase.

Presenter: John Barlament, Quarles & Brady LLP.

Original Program Date: July, 2011 (Available until Dec. 2012)

Program Overview
The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act imposed new HIPAA privacy and security rules for employers and their health plans, further complicating employers' compliance with this law. The new rules now require health plans (and employers on behalf of their health plans) to report breaches and take additional steps to ensure the security of certain employee health information.

In addition, the new rules more than doubled the potential penalties for HIPAA failures.  This program will provide an overview of all the relevant provisions of HIPAA privacy and security, with a particular emphasis on steps employers must take to comply with the new rules.
