Developing a Customer-Focused and Market-Focused Mindset Within the Human Resource Function
HR executives are faced with some unique challenges both within and outside the boundaries of the organization. On the inside, the HR function is being challenged to continuously enhance the services it delivers and to demonstrate its real value to top management. Externally, talent markets are steadily becoming more competitive, and companies are struggling to attract, retain and engage top-quality talent. To address these challenges, HR executives must think and act like marketers with their existing and potential employees as "customers."
In this summit, you will learn fundamental concepts and tools that will help you develop and implement a "marketing mindset" by:
- Recognizing what is means to be customer-focused and market-focused
- Understanding how the core marketing concepts – the 3 Cs (Company-Customer-Competitor),
STP (Segmentation-Targeting-Positioning) and the 4 Ps (Product-Price-Place-Promotion)
can be applied to the HR function
- Learning how to think about your existing and potential employees as your “customers”
- Building a customer service culture within the HR function
- Understanding and leveraging the service-profit chain
- Learning how to market the HR function within the organization
- Learning how to systematically influence potential employees in a 360-degree fashion
by creating a great “employee experience”
- Understanding how potential employees make decisions about their careers
- Busting organizational silos in the quest for customer-focus and market-focus thinking
- Aligning organizational vision, structure and incentives toward a customer and market-focus
