PROGRAM OVERVIEW
During this interactive one-day program, you will understand the five stages of the change process and learn techniques to help people who resist change. In addition, you will translate your company’s strategic goals into action steps, create accountability for results and leverage resources to gain influence in your organization by building business partnerships.
Objectives
Students will learn how to:
- Use the J Curve to understand the five stages of the change process
- Avoid the trap of relying on persuasion to produce change
- Use activation techniques to help people who are resisting change
- Translate strategic goals into concrete, doable steps
- Communicate in ground-level, action-oriented language
- Build involvement and enthusiasm with simple questioning techniques
- Create accountability for implementation and results
- Leverage their own resources to gain influence in their organizations and build business partnerships
- Establish a culture of enthusiasm for new objectives
- Motivate individuals and groups to achieve transformational goals

ABOUT THE SPEAKER
Jerald M. Jellison, Ph.D., USC
Dr. Jellison is a professor of psychology at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles. He held previous appointments at Duke University, the University of Missouri and the University of Texas, and has been honored with multiple awards for excellence in teaching.
For the past 30 years, Dr. Jellison has been teaching his practical management techniques to business professionals throughout the world. He makes hundreds of presentations each year and has extensive experience with all levels of management.
As president of the 30,000-member USC Credit Union for 25 years, Dr. Jellison has guided a 30-fold increase in assets. This real-world experience informs his approach to managing people and change.
His book, Overcoming Resistance: A Practical Guide to Producing Change in the Workplace (Simon & Schuster, 1993), was a Fortune Book Club selection and was named a Top Business Book of 1993.
For the past 30 years he has been teaching his practical change management techniques to clients such as 3M, Daimler-Benz, PricewaterHouse, Qualcomm, St. Paul Companies, Sun Microsystems, Toyota Motor Sales and the U.S. Air Force.
