Student Chapter Idea Book. The book lists a vareity of projects and activities conducted each year by SHRM student chapters nationwide. It includes examples of actual materials used in student chapter programs. Other sources are your Chapter Advisor, your Sponsoring Chapter and the
SHRM Speaker Directory.
In planning the subject matter of your meetings, workshops and seminars, think about interesting issues that have been raised in your HR or business classes, or in the news. Some examples include:
Diversity and Inclusion
In addition to hosting speakers on these subjects, be creative and think of ways to make your programs more interactive. Examples include:
Hold mock interviews with professionals.
Break into small groups to discuss case studies.
Use a game format with prizes.
Take personality/aptitude tests and discuss results.
Critique fellow student resumes.
Conduct a team-building exercise.
Hold a diversity training exercise.
