The Membership Advisory Council (MAC) serves as an interface between the volunteer leaders and the SHRM Board of Directors. The MAC is composed of one elected representative from each of the Regional Councils. The MAC provides input from the membership through the regional councils to the board and feedback from the board to the membership, back through the regional councils; and provides operational input to SHRM to ensure optimum service/support to and from the volunteer leadership.

  • Susan has served as a volunteer leader for SHRM since 2005; as the Certification Director , 2005-2008, Diversity Director 2008, the Conference Chair, 2008-2011, Director elect 2008-2011, State Director from 2011-2014, and the Immediate Past Director in 2015.

  • Sharon is the founder and president of SLS Consulting, LLC, a human resources services and training firm. SLS consultants assist corporations in managing their U.S. employees, with clients headquartered in the United States, the European Union, Asia and the United Kingdom.
  • Sharon has 30 years’ experience in the HR field and has been a SHRM member since 1993. She is a proud member of the SHRM Advocacy Team and is an A-Team captain for her congressional district.
  • She has served on the South Carolina SHRM State Council for 11 years and was the 2014-2015 Director of SC SHRM. Sharon is also a past president of the Tri-County HR Management Association, a SHRM chapter in Charleston, SC.
  • Sharon has taught HR courses through Trident Technical College in Charleston, SC for 11 years, including the SHRM Learning System curriculum.

  • In June, 2015 Sharon presented testimony before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission in Washington, D.C. regarding “Retaliation in the Workplace: Causes, Remedies, and Strategies for Prevention.”
  • Sharon volunteers her time speaking to groups regarding domestic violence issues in the workplace. She is currently working with the South Carolina Domestic Violence Joint Task Force established by Governor Nikki Haley of SC to develop sample policies and guidelines to assist employers in helping their employees who are victims of domestic violence.

  • Angie currently serves as the Director of Compensation & Benefits for Shoe Carnival, Inc. – one of the nation’s largest family footwear retailers with over 400 stores in 34 states and approximately 6,000 employees.
  • She has been an HR Professional for 20 years beginning as a student worker in the HR Department at her University. She has a B.S. degree in Accounting and an MBA from the University of Southern Indiana.

  • Mike Letizia is a founder and President of Letizia HR Solutions, Inc.. As a senior human resource professional consultant with over 30 years of experience in the full scope of HR functional areas, his background includes over 20 years at a director, vice president, and president management level.
  • Mike is an accomplished generalist in human resources. His expertise covers strategic planning, workforce analysis, compensation & benefits administration, employee relations, recruiting and selection, payroll and salary administration, human resource development, and occupational safety, and security.
