Technology is the key to workplace happiness: The New Agenda on the Block

SHRM India Forum

It’s difficult to think of the modern workplace without the impact of technology in all its various formats. From leading a healthy life to our need to stay connected, technology now plays a pivotal role in being happy at work. And not to mention the fact that it leads to lower staff turnover, lower absenteeism levels and a significant increase in business productivity. The University of Warwick, UK, in one of their studies revealed that happy workers are up to 12% more productive than unhappy professionals. They are more likely to be the proud owner of good health, have smooth flowing professional and personal relationships, and thereby prove to be more beneficial for the organization as a whole. Employees no longer view work merely as a means to pay the bills; they are searching for work that is interesting, meaningful and that which makes them happy. With this, employees have seen first-hand the ways in which technology can make their work better, and are keen to use the latest advancements to be more productive.
