The Value of a Total Approach to Health

Presenter: Daniel Knecht, CVS Health

Original Program Date: May 2019 (available for on-demand viewing through September 2019)

Program length: 60 minutes

As our health care system continues to evolve, recent studies have examined why costs continue to rise. The U.S. alone spends 18 percent of its gross domestic product on health care -- and costs are expected to grow over the next few years, for individuals and employers alike.

One way for employees to tackle escelating costs is to understand how physical, behavioral, and emotional health are interconnected. In this program, Daniel Knecht, vice president of health strategy and innovation at CVS Health, will discuss how you can prioritize your employees’ well-being by meeting them where they are and addressing their health needs holistically. He will review:

  • The importance of total health and how it can decrease costs while increasing the value of care
  • Strategies to better understand and invest in employees’ well-being
  • How total health fits into our current health care system
