As the number of COVID-19 cases plateaus in some places, employers are taking the first steps toward reopening workplaces. The challenge now is how to plan for the new work reality and what to do as the coronavirus continues to be a health threat. In this program, Margaret Kitt, M.D., of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) will provide an update of the coronavirus across the United States, how it will continue to impact businesses as they begin to reopen and the next steps employers should take. Also during the hour, SHRM CEO and president Johnny C. Taylor, Jr., will provide an update on the critical role HR is playing in getting workplaces open. And Alexander Alonso and Amber Clayton from SHRM will field questions from SHRM members on the challenges they currently face.
