Greed, competition, and distrust have come to characterize the modern business world. Researcher Jim Walsh found that, in the past two decades, words such as “win,” “beat,” and “competition” have increasingly permeated business press, while words such as “virtue,” “caring,” and “compassion” have virtually disappeared. Meanwhile, self-help books and other prescriptions for happiness, fulfillment, and personal effectiveness are growing increasingly popular. HR has to navigate this contradictory environment to find and retain the best talent.
In this presentation, Curtis Cannon from BambooHR will discuss the results of a study of the effects of five characteristics of a positive workforce on employee commitment to the organization and turnover intentions. You will learn practical applications for developing clear expectations from management, improving coworker cooperation and connection, providing your employees with meaning in their daily tasks, removing the obstacles that stand in the way of great work, and trusting your employees with the autonomy they need to succeed.
About the Presenter: Curtis Cannon is the Customer Education and Success Operations Manager at BambooHR. He has used the experience he gained as a member of the implementation team and his ability to see the big picture to become a key player in creating BambooHR’s customer success strategy and shaping the customer journey. His greatest passions are working with people and guiding them down the right path to help them realize their full potential.
