Are you ready? The new Form I-9 goes into effect Sept. 17, 2017. Indications suggest that nationwide E-Verify is on the horizon. Civil penalties for noncompliance with the Form I-9 requirements are at an all-time high.

Learn about our speaker About the Presenters: Montserrat Miller is a partner with Arnall Golden Gregory LLP. She advises organizations on employee onboarding issues such as employment compliance with immigration law requirements when hiring employees. In this role, Miller counsels and defends companies regarding their hiring practices and compliance with the government’s Form I-9 and E-Verify employment eligibility verification requirements. She also advises I-9 electronic vendors regarding compliance and operational issues and conducts immigration-related internal Form I-9 investigations. Miller previously served as a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association’s Verification and Worksite Enforcement Liaison Committee and represents clients before the U.S. Congress on matters related to immigration.

Mark Wobbe is a product consultant with Equifax Workforce Solutions focusing on I-9 management and compliance issues. He has over 15 years of experience helping employers leverage electronic solutions to optimize their human resource processes and comply with complex regulations. In addition to his expertise in I-9 compliance issues, Wobbe has held positions supporting payroll, time and attendance, employment and income verifications, tax form management and many more. Wobbe has also held several positions in implementation and client service as well as technical product advisor positions, giving him a unique perspective of the challenges employers face.
