Compensation Is Culture

Presenters: Mykkah Herner, PayScale; and Rusty Lindquist, BambooHR

Original program date: October 2017 (available for on-demand viewing through September 2017)

Program length: 60 minutes

Compensation reflects your culture. However, there's a disconnect between how employers think their employees feel about pay and how employees feel. PayScale's 2017 Compensation Best Practices report reflects this disconnect: Nearly half (44 percent) of employers say their employees are fairly paid, but only 20 percent of employees agree. Mykkah Herner from PayScale and Rusty Lindquist from BambooHR will discuss key findings from the 2017 Compensation Best Practices report. They will also discuss how organizations use modern compensation practices to get positive business results. You will learn

  • What trends exist in pay transparency.
  • Why the standard 3 percent raise might be on its way out.
  • Why you should consider paying more for competitive jobs.
  • How to align variable pay to business goals.
