Some interns will be earning over $8,000 per month this year, even as millions of workers have been driven out of the workforce due to the COVID-19 pandemic and others await an uneven recovery that is slowly gaining momentum. Over half of the 25 companies paying their interns the most this year are in technology (16 companies), with six other companies in finance and two in the energy industry, according to data from Glassdoor's economic research team.

NVIDIA Takes Top Spot
The company with the highest monthly pay for interns is NVIDIA ($8,811), a computer hardware and software company that also ranked second among Glassdoor's Best Places to Work in 2021. Also in the top 10 for the highest-paid internships were Amazon, Capital One, ExxonMobil, Facebook, Google, LinkedIn, Microsoft, Salesforce and Uber.
