Janet Alberti, CPA
Janet Alberti has 30 years of experience in finance and administration including work in museum, broadcasting, technology, and public accounting industries. She is currently the Deputy Director, Administration and Finance, for the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art (SFMOMA). She joined SFMOMA in a leadership role overseeing finance, legal, information technology, facility, and operations during a transformational time of planning, ramping up, and opening of the new museum. Prior to SFMOMA, she served as the Deputy Director and CFO of the Museum of Contemporary Art in Chicago, overseeing all financial and operational areas, including key roles with strategic planning and governance activities. Previously, she served in a financial and operational leadership role for the public television station, Window to the World Communications, and also has strong experience with digital start-up businesses. She began her professional career as a Senior Auditor with Arthur Andersen.
Alberti attended the Getty Museum Leadership Institute, and was the board vice chair at the Association of Midwest Museums and served as board chair of finance for the Arts Alliance Illinois. She received her BA in Business Administration from St. Mary's College, Notre Dame, Indiana, and is a certified public accountant.
