Coretha M. Rushing SHRM-SCP
Coretha M. Rushing, SHRM-SCP, has more than 25 years of HR experience and has been an active member of SHRM since 1998. She served on the SHRM Atlanta Chapter’s Board of Directors, which is one of SHRM’s largest.
Since 2006, Rushing has been chief human resources officer for Equifax, Inc., a $2.5 billion information and credit monitoring company with 8,500 employees in 19 countries. She has a global responsibility for the Center of Excellence that includes human resources, compensation and benefits, global talent management and leadership development. She also serves as a member of the Equifax Foundation board. Prior to Equifax, she served in several senior HR functions for The Coca-Cola Company, culminating in her being named senior vice president of human resources, where she led all human resource functions for the company.
Rushing began her career as a recruiter and corporate training specialist with R.H. Macy’s & Co., and as the training director for East River Savings and Loan. She also has worked as an executive coach and human resources consultant.
Rushing served as a member of the Board for Atlanta’s Big Brothers and Big Sisters and chaired their Finance Committee, She currently chairs the SHRM Compensation/Organization Committee. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Industrial Psychology from East Carolina University. She holds a master’s in human resources and counseling from George Washington University.
