“To get ready for SHRM10 we are launching a nationwide search for a ‘Blog Squad’ – five SHRM members to work with us to cover the people, places and events of the convention,” said Curtis Midkiff, SHRM’s manager of PR and Social Media Relations.
Here’s how it works:
SHRM members who blog can submit their name, address and other contact information and a sample of their work—be it a writing sample or video blog—to
www.shrmblogsquad.com. Or they can e-mail that information to
“SHRM will then select five people to be our official blog squad for the conference,” Midkiff said.
“As a member of the squad, they’ll get one Annual Conference registration, behind-the-scenes access to various events, exclusive access to our social media lounge and official Blog Squad apparel that they’ll wear throughout the conference,” Midkiff said.
“During the conference, squad members will submit various postings that will be on our conference blog page. They’ll be our eyes and ears of the conference. It’s a great way to give members the opportunity to give their perspective on the conference.”
He added: “This is a part of our social media initiatives for the conference that include: the social media lounge, live streaming a press conference, video blogs, etc.”
