To help HR professionals prepare for the exam, the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) has released the 2012 SHRM Learning System, with revised content and redesigned online components to reflect the new body of knowledge.
The most significant change to the Learning Systems is in the online portion, said Triscia McGuinness, educational products manager for SHRM. Test takers can “assess their current knowledge and develop study plans based on their strengths and weaknesses.” New “QuickStarts” provide guided overviews of each module, highlighting the important concepts therein. Students can compare their knowledge before studying a module and their knowledge after completing the module with pre- and post-test assessments.
Users can access the Learning System from their smart phones, Kindle, Nook and iPad devices at no extra charge. Audio flashcards can be downloaded to MP3 players.
Test takers can use the Learning System on their own,through a college/university partner or as a part of a virtual class or in-person seminar. See www.shrm.org/learning for more information.
