awarded Lt. James Walsh, a U.S. Navy search-and-rescue pilot, the NAHR Graduate
Student Scholarship.Walsh resides in Key West, Fla., where
he serves in the military and is a full-time student pursing a master’s degree

annual NAHR Graduate Student Scholarship. NAHR will fund the scholarship, and
the Foundation will select the recipients. Walsh is the second recipient since
the scholarship was established in 2015. Gerald Roberts was the first winner; he had served as vice president of a student SHRM chapter and
graduated in December 2016 with a master’s
degree in HR. Scholarship
beneficiaries must be enrolled in a master’s degree program with an emphasis on
HR or an HR-related program. Applicants are evaluated on SHRM student chapter
involvement or other demonstrated commitment to the HR profession, academic
