​​Jessica Perry 

Jessica Perry serves as SHRM’s senior vice president of SHRM’s Publishing and Media Division.

A highly accomplished and pioneering leader in digital publishing, Perry has more than 25 years of experience directing the online initiatives for major media operations, with an emphasis on premium and multimedia product and revenue development, content marketing and native ad models.

Most recently, Perry was Vice President and General Manager at National Journal Group, overseeing digital strategy and operations for free, membership and mobile products of the non-partisan politics and policy publisher, serving B2C and B2B markets. During her two-year tenure, she oversaw a website re-launch that contributed to a doubling of traffic and drove new revenues from non-standard and sponsored ad units, as well as an award-winning launch of Hotline Race Tracker, a social media-centric elections dashboard.

Prior to this, Perry led product operations at Conde Nast Digital, responsible for defining, developing and implementing web and mobile product initiatives and enhancements for more than 20 brands, including The New Yorker, Wired GQ, Epicurious, and Glamour.  In a consulting capacity, she led business development efforts for Yahoo! Finance, and also advised an award-winning TV production company on the launch of celebrity mobile apps. 

Perry began her career laying the digital future for Dow Jones, with roles spanning editorial, marketing, business and product development. As a reporter, she covered the stock market for a pre-internet broadcast operation delivering customized investment information. Later, she initiated the first web content licensing efforts for Dow Jones, and was on the founding team of the Wall Street Journal Online. As SVP of Marketing and Business Development for the company’s Consumer Electronic Publishing group, she oversaw circulation and marketing for, MarketWatch and Barron’s.
Perry is on the advisory board of Market Realist, a start-up providing free ETF research and newsletters, and has been an advisor to Broadcast Interactive Media. She has also served on the board of the Software & Information Industry Association.

In recent years, Perry has been active in organizations that provide career training and counseling to low-income, unemployed individuals, as well as mentoring to at-risk youth. 

She earned both Master’s and Bachelor’s degrees in journalism from Northwestern University.​
