Brian D. Silva, SHRM-SCP
Brian D. Silva, SHRM-SCP, has devoted over 25 years of his career to human resources. He is currently Chief Human Resources Officer and Senior Vice President, Administration for Fresenius Medical Care, the global leader in kidney care, with $15 billion in annual revenue and more than 100,000 employees. Silva leads a team of 250 HR professionals in North America, in addition to managing the company's $800 million corporate real estate portfolio.
Prior to Fresenius, he was Senior Vice President of HR at Gentiva Health Services, a $2-billion home health care company with 20,000 employees in 41 states. He led the strategic direction for 100 HR professionals. While there, he managed all HR integration activities related to seven acquisitions that contributed more than $400 million in additional revenue to the company.
Before Gentiva Health Services, Silva served as Senior Vice President of HR and Administration, and was Corporate Secretary for Linens N Things. He was responsible for developing the strategic vision for human resources and corporate governance, in addition to having profit and loss responsibility for the company's e-commerce business. Previously, he held HR positions with Allstate Insurance and Guardian Insurance.
He has served on the Board of Directors for 24/7 Real Media, and as an instructor in the New York Institute of Technology's Graduate School of Management.
Silva earned a master's degree in Organization Psychology from Columbia University, and a master's in HR Management from the New York Institute of Technology. He is a graduate of Harvard Business School’s Maximizing Leadership Impact Program and the Advanced Executive Leadership program at Institut Européen d'Aministration des Affaires, in Fontainebleau, France. He earned his undergraduate degree at St. John's University.
