SIOP and SHRM Now Accepting Human Resource Management Award Applications

Recognizes employers with successful evidence-based HR practices

Bowling Green, Ohio – The Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology (SIOP) and the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), together with the SIOP and SHRM Foundations, are now accepting applications for the first international award to honor organizations with outstanding evidence-based HR management practices.  

Since 2013, the HRM Impact Awards have recognized organizations for their HR practices and initiatives that have been determined successful through scientifically measured, data-driven analyses. The HRM Impact Award helps recipient organizations attract and retain top HR talent, who value evidence-based HR practice and want to work with leaders in the field.

SIOP and SHRM, together with their respective Foundations, present one or more HRM Impact Awards annually to showcase excellence in evidence-based HR management practices, projects, and initiatives. The winners are recognized publicly with a plaque presented at both a SHRM and a SIOP conference. In addition, the winners are featured in press releases and news articles highlighting their organizations and winning practices or initiatives.

The featured practice may be currently in use or have been in use within the past 5 years; however a practice or initiative within a particular organization can be nominated only once, unless resubmission is specifically invited by the HRM Impact Award Review Committee. Any type of HR practice or initiative may be nominated.

Any for-profit, not-for-profit, or government organization located anywhere in the world may apply for award recognition of an evidence-based initiative or practice used internally by that organization. Consulting firms are encouraged to have their clients submit an application that highlights a practice developed by the consulting firm and used in the client organization. 

Award submissions for the 2016 HRM Impact Award are being accepted through April 30 and can be submitted at Membership in SHRM and/or SIOP is not required but applications must be submitted in English.  Further information is available on the HRM Impact Award website. More information about previous winners can be found on the HRM Impact Award website,
