Comprehensive survey outlines the state of the nation’s workplaces
NEW YORK — The National Study of Employers report to be released on April 29 will provide a picture of how employers are managing their workforce — from telecommuting policies to economic security — and what has changed in the workplace since the recession.
“The National Study of Employers series is the most comprehensive and far-reaching study of the practices, policies, programs and benefits provided by U.S. employers in response to the changing workforce and the changing nature of work itself,” said Ken Matos, director of research for the Families and Work Institute.
“With data stretching back almost a decade,” he said, “the study provides national benchmarks for issues of major interest to both employers and employees such as workplace flexibility, caregiving leaves, workplace diversity, health care and economic security.”
The study of more than 1,000 employers, designed and conducted by the Families and Work Institute (FWI) in partnership with the Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM), will be released on April 29 at SHRM’s Talent Management Conference in Nashville, Tenn. It will shed light on a host of workplace trends, including:
Press briefing: Representatives from FWI and SHRM will share highlights of the study and answer questions via conference call from 2 to 3 p.m. EST/1 to 2 p.m. CST on Tuesday, April 29. Dial-in information is available from FWI and SHRM media relations. The press briefing will be held in Presidential Boardroom A at the Gaylord Opryland in Nashville.
Media: To receive a copy of the report or for more information, contact Eve Tahmincioglu of the Families and Work Institute at firstname.lastname@example.org and 212-465-2044 or Kate Kennedy of SHRM Media Relations at 703-535-6260 and email@example.com.
The 2014 National Study of Employers report will be available on the Families and Work Institute website on April 29.
