Three Elected to SHRM Board of Directors

Coretha Rushing becomes board chair designate for 2016

ALEXANDRIA, Va. — Three human resource professionals have been elected to the Society for Human Resource Management’s Board of Directors for 2016.

Joining the 13-member SHRM board beginning Jan. 1, 2016, are:

  • Steve Browne, SHRM-SCP, executive director of human resources at LaRosa’s Inc., Cincinnati;
  • Sherri Enright, SHRM-SCP, principal, HHS Consulting LLC, Sanibel, Fla.; and
  • Donna Morris, SHRM-SCP, senior vice president, customer and employee experience, Adobe Systems Inc., San Jose, Calif.

Browne, who has served on SHRM’s Membership Advisory Council, and Morris will serve two-year terms. Enright will serve a one-year term.

In addition, two HR executives were re-elected to the board. Jose Tomas, SHRM-SCP, executive vice president and chief human resources officer at Anthem Inc., Indianapolis, was re-elected to a two-year term. David Windley, president, IQTalent Partners, Los Altos, Calif., was re-elected to a three-year term.

Coretha M. Rushing, SHRM-SCP, senior vice president and chief human resources officer, Equifax Inc., Atlanta, was elected chair designate. She will become board chair in 2017.

SHRM’s Board of Directors sets broad policies and strategic direction and provides fiduciary oversight for the 275,000-member professional association. The 2016 Board of Directors was announced during SHRM’s Volunteer Leaders’ Summit in Washington, D.C.

Also serving on the board in 2016 will be:

  • Brian D. Silva, SHRM-SCP, chief human resources officer and senior vice president, administration, Fresenius Medical Care North America, who serves as board chair;
  • Jorge Consuegra, an owner, The Fearless Group;
  • Thomas W. Derry, chief executive officer, Institute for Supply Management;
  • My-Chau Nguyen, CPA, senior vice president of customer relationship marketing, Sirius XM Radio;
  • Patrick Wright, Ph.D., chair in business, Darla Moore School of Business, University of South Carolina; and
  • Gretchen K. Zech, SHRM-SCP, senior vice president, global human resources, Arrow Electronics.

President and CEO Henry G. (Hank) Jackson, CPA, is an ex officio voting member of the board.


Steve Browne, SHRM-SCPSteve Browne, SHRM-SCP, is executive director of human resources for LaRosa's Inc., a regional pizzeria restaurant chain in southwest Ohio. Before joining LaRosa’s, Browne held various HR management positions in the manufacturing, consumer products and professional services industries. An active member of SHRM for more than 15 years, he has held several leadership roles, most recently serving as a representative to the Membership Advisory Council of SHRM. His other responsibilities have included immediate-past Ohio State Council director for SHRM, state conference director for Ohio HR Conference Committee, and past president of the Greater Cincinnati Human Resources Association. He writes a nationally recognized HR blog, Everyday People, and often is ranked among the 100 most influential HR voices on social media. He facilitates a monthly HR roundtable as well as an online HR forum called the HR Net. Browne holds a Bachelor of Science in interpersonal communication from Ohio University.
Sherri Enright, SHRM-SCPSherri Enright, SHRM-SCP, is the founder of HHS Consulting LLC in Sanibel, Fla., where she works with business owners and executives to help them understand their unique business goals and then design and execute HR strategies and programs. Before becoming a principal at HHS Consulting, Enright was executive vice president and chief human resource officer for Domino’s Pizza, where she led global human resources. She was head of human resources and facilities at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas and spent 12 years at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas City, where she held several roles, most recently as senior vice president, administrative services and chief human resources officer. Enright, who has a law degree from the University of Iowa, was assistant vice president and general counsel for American Chambers Life Insurance Co./Centennial Life Insurance Co. She also holds an MBA from Avila University and a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Kansas. She is a member of SHRM SWFL, the Fort Myers, Fla., chapter.
Donna Morris, SHRM-SCPDonna Morris, SHRM-SCP, is senior vice president, customer and employee experience for Adobe Systems Inc. in San Jose, Calif. She oversees the company’s customer service and workforce strategy, including talent acquisition, development, rewards and workplace experience for more than 13,000 employees worldwide. Previously, she was senior vice president, global people and places. During her career, she has led both generalist and specialist human resources functions in the high-technology, communications and government fields. Prior to becoming senior vice president in March 2007, she held several other management positions within Adobe People Resources. Before joining Adobe, she was vice president of human resources and learning at Accelio Corp., a Canadian software company acquired by Adobe in 2002. She also serves on the board of directors for the Adobe Foundation. Morris holds a bachelor’s degree from Carleton University, Ottawa, Canada, and the Canadian Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) designation.
