ALEXANDRIA, Va., September 10, 2020 — Johnny C. Taylor, Jr., SHRM-SCP, SHRM President and CEO, has been named president of the North American Human Resource Management Association (NAHRMA), the representative body for human resource management in North America. He will serve a two-year term.
As president, Taylor will lead NAHRMA in empowering HR professionals in the U.S., Canada, and Mexico on key challenges facing the profession with a focus on sensible policy solutions—such as workplace flexibility and leave, health care, and immigration.
"NAHRMA has a unique opportunity to both lay the groundwork for economic recovery and address critical workplace issues that will improve the experience of workers across North America. One country cannot accomplish this alone. Together, we can develop sound policies that can positively shape 21st century workplaces," said Taylor.
NAHRMA was founded in 1997 by the national human resource associations of Canada, Mexico, and the United States. It represents more than 350,000 human resource professionals and the interests of the human resource profession in North America. SHRM also serves as NAHRMA's permanent Secretariat.
