ALEXANDRIA, Va. — Experts on employer practices that create effective and flexible workplaces — including Anne-Marie Slaughter, author of the article “Women Still Can’t Have It All,” and leadership guru Doug Conant — are among speakers in a series of sessions presented by When Work Works, a national partnership between the Families and Work Institute (FWI) and the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), at SHRM’s 2014 Annual Conference & Exposition.
WHAT: SHRM Annual Conference & Exposition
WHEN: June 22-25, 2014
WHERE: Orange County Convention Center, Orlando, Fla.
DETAILS: With the theme of #ReinventWork, seven conference sessions curated by When Work Works and based on FWI’s research explore innovative workplace practices that allow employers to stay on top of the changing landscape of work. Among them:
Lisa Horn, co-leader of SHRM’s Workplace Flexibility Initiative, will share innovative employer practices in the session “Drive Business Success with Workplace Flexibility.” Employers that have been honored with the Awards for Workplace Effectiveness and Flexibility will be recognized at a Monday night reception.
Ellen Galinsky, FWI president, will speak in a special ask- the-expert session “Talent — Workplaces that Find, Develop and Retain the Best” at noon on Tuesday, June 24.
Experts from SHRM and FWI are available for interviews. Information about the recently released National Study of Employers, which looks at changes in the workplace since 2008, also is available.
