WHAT: The Society for Human Resource Management’s (SHRM) 2011 Employment Law & Legislative Conference

The agenda will focus on paid leave, workplace flexibility, immigration, health care reform, background checks, pay discrimination, executive compensation, the American with Disabilities Act Amendments Act (ADAAA), and other timely business issues.

WHO: More than 600 human resource professionals will hear from compliance, regulatory and legal experts the latest state and federal legislative issues impacting day-to-day HR operations in workplaces across the U.S.

  • Soledad O’Brien – CNN anchor kicks off the conference with a general session address;
  • Mike Aitken – SHRM’s director of government affairs will talk about the new congress and federal agencies impacting HR;
  • Lynn Shotwell – executive director of the American Council on International Personnel will discuss immigration;
  • Victoria Lipnic and Chai Feldblum – the two EEOC Commissioners will discuss the ADAAA regulations; and
  • additional experts with subject-matter insight into timely workplace issues.
