ALEXANDRIA, Va. — The Society for Human Resource Management’s (SHRM) 2013 Employment Law & Legislative Conference will focus on the impact of the 2012 election on the workplace and changing legal and business trends for employers.
The conference attended by more than 500 attending HR professionals will take placeMarch 10-13 at the Hyatt Regency Washington Hotel, 400 New Jersey Ave. NW in Washington, DC.
CNN Political Reporter and Anchor Candy Crowley, Time Contributing Editor Jon Meacham, National Public Radio’s Legal Affairs Correspondent Nina Totenberg, and SHRM Vice President of Government Affairs Mike Aitken will keynote the conference. They will provide insight on the 2012 election, its impact on the business community and information on employer-related legislation.
Concurrent sessions led by employment attorneys, HR practitioners, and association leaders will cover a range of topics, including health care reform, immigration, social media in the workplace, and public policy.
On March 13, nearly 200 conference attendees will meet with their congressional representatives, senators, and their staffs to discuss how pending legislation on immigration and retirement savings impact business and HR.
During the conference, SHRM and the Congressional Management Foundation will release the first of its kind survey that measures the job satisfaction of members of the U.S. House of Representatives. A press briefing on the results of the survey “Life in Congress: The Member Perspective” will be at 10 a.m. March 12 in the Grand Canyon Room of the Hyatt Regency.
