Hiring and Recruiting Trends: Focus of SHRM Conference for HR and Recruiters, April 28-30 in Nashville

ALEXANDRIA, Va. — The Society for Human Resource Management’s (SHRM) 2014 Talent Management Conference & Exposition will provide more than 1,000 HR professionals and recruiters with information on current topics in recruitment such as social media, legislation and employee engagement trends.

The conference’s 50+ sessions will cover timely issues such as the skills gap, EEOC regulations, remote workforces, Millennial workers and mobile recruiting.

Press briefings:

  • Release of SHRM’s Resume Survey Report: A press briefing will be held with the authors of the study via conference call from2-2:30 p.m. EST/1-1:30 p.m. CST on Monday, April 28, with Evren Esen, director of SHRM’s Survey Research Center.   • Release of the SHRM and Families and Work Institute’s 2014 National Study of Employers: The report, the last version of which was released in 2012, provides insights into how employers are managing their workforce, including everything from telecommuting policies to economic security, and what has changed since the recession. A press briefing will be held with the authors of the study via conference call from 2-3 p.m. EST/1-2 p.m. CST on Tuesday, April 29. Additionally, Bonnie Mason, employment manager at Nashville’s Gaylord Opryland Resort and Convention Center, will discuss the hotel’s recruiting strategy regarding hiring its hourly workforce at a 10:45 a.m. session on Tuesday, April 29.
