SHRM, SIOP and their foundations recognize exemplary evidence-based HR management
Bowling Green, OH — The Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology (SIOP) and the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) have announced winners of the 2015 Human Resource Management Impact Award.
The HRM Impact Award is an international honor given by SIOP, SHRM, the SHRM Foundation and the SIOP Foundation that recognizes organizations with outstanding evidence-based HR management practices. The award, which recognizes HR practices and initiatives that have been measured and determined successful through evidence-based, data-driven analyses, will be presented at the Boston Renaissance Waterfront Oct. 2 during SIOP’s Leading Edge Consortium, “Building a High-Performance Organization: A Fresh Look at Performance Management.” The winners also will be honored at the SHRM Volunteer Leaders’ Summit Nov. 20 in Washington D.C.
“This award recognizes those organizations that are using strong evidence to back up their HR practices,” said Ann Marie Ryan, chair of this year’s HRM Impact Award Committee. “These two organizations exemplify the gold standard in the use of evidence-based HR strategies and practices to foster organizational success. We are proud to honor them and to highlight their best practices.”
“We congratulate the winners of the 2015 HRM Impact Award and their creative use of workforce analytics to drive business success,” added Henry G. (Hank) Jackson, SHRM’s president and CEO. “In their effective use of evidence-based measurement and management, they set a high standard for HR departments and leadership requirements of HR professionals everywhere.”
Receiving the award are:
•Bank of America implemented the “Bank of America Universal Fit Pre-Hire Assessment.” In partnership with SHAKER, Bank of America created an innovative, custom assessment and realistic job preview (RJP), which was based on a comprehensive job analysis and validated through a criterion-related, concurrent validation approach.
• Huntington Bank created the “VOICE Colleague Engagement Survey,” which uses a data-driven approach to measure organizational culture, employment brand, employee engagement, and turnover, and link them to overall organizational performance.
