WASHINGTON, Sept. 12, 2016 — On Wednesday, Sept. 14, 2016, the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute (CHCI) and the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) will release a joint report titled The Changing U.S. Workforce: The Growing Hispanic Demographic and the Workplace. The report will be formally announced during CHCI's Equality Luncheon at its 2016 Public Policy Conference in Washington, D.C.
The report presents the latest research and insights from experts on the Hispanic demographic and lays out the challenges and opportunities presented by the massive entry of Hispanic Millennials into the workforce.
In the report, CHCI and SHRM identify effective practices to close the skills gap that exists in the Latino workforce and urge policy makers, business owners and other decision makers to invest in workforce development and education.
