SHRM, Great Place to Work® Institute Announce Third Annual List of "Best Small & Medium Companies to Work for in America"
(Alexandria, Va., July 28, 2005)--The Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) and the Great Place to Work® Institute, Inc. are conducting a search for the third annual list of the best small to medium-sized companies to work for in America. The list will be released in 2006.
The Great Place to Work® Institute, Inc., a San Francisco-based international research and management consultancy, produces similar "Best Companies to Work for" lists in over twenty countries worldwide, including Fortune's "100 Best Companies to Work for." SHRM is the largest association dedicated to the human resource (HR) profession, with over 200,000 members worldwide.
SHRM and the Institute invite all small to medium-sized companies (between 50 and 999 employees) nationwide to submit a nomination for consideration. SHRM and the Institute will recruit companies to participate in the selection process, and SHRM will announce this year's results in its flagship publication, HRMagazine in 2006.
"In partnering with Great Place to Work® Institute, Inc., SHRM is recognizing those organizations that understand that people are their number one resource," said SHRM President and CEO Sue Meisinger, SPHR. "Studies have shown time and again that when an organization invests in its employees, there is a significant, and positive impact on the bottom line."
"We are delighted to partner with SHRM because we believe that any company of any size can provide a great working environment for its employees," said Robert Levering, chairman and co-founder of Great Place to Work® Institute. "This list will enable a number of exemplary small- and medium-sized employers the public recognition they deserve."
