(Alexandria, Va., April 19, 2007)—The Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) will hold its 59th Annual Conference and Exposition, June 24-27, 2007, in Las Vegas, Nevada. The conference, which will take place at the Las Vegas Convention Center, is expected to attract more than 15,000 human resource professionals from around the world and will include more than 150 concurrent sessions on crucial human capital and workplace issues.
Lance Armstrong, seven time Tour de France champion and cancer survivor, will be a featured keynote speaker. Other speakers include Linda Alvarado, president and CEO of Alvarado Construction, Inc.; Dan Pink, best-selling author of Free Agent Nation; and Erin Gruwell, whose inspirational life was turned into movie titled Freedom Writers staring Hilary Swank and Patrick Dempsey.
In addition, SHRM will announce the "Best Small & Medium Companies to Work for in America" for 2007. This will be the fourth annual "Best Places" awards presentation jointly sponsored by SHRM and the Great Place to Work® Institute, Inc.
